The world’s most prestigious and glamorous fashion event, the Met Gala was as always, a night of stunning, extravagant and glamourous outfits with relevant personalities from the world of fashion, film, music, theatre, business, sports, television amongst other professions.

The annual fashion event is organised by fashion magazine, Vogue. The fundraising event is held for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City.

The 2023 Gala’s theme was titled “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty”, to honour the artistic contributions of the late German with all four co-chairs hailing from Europe, who were retired tennis star Roger Federer, Grammy-winning songstress Dua Lipa, actress Penélope Cruz and writer, actor and producer Michaela Coel alongside Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.

The event, known for its star-studded guest list and extravagant outfits, included pearls, starched collars, and black and white to honour the designer.

For this year’s theme – “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty” – attendees were asked to wear clothes “in honour of Karl”.
For decades, Lagerfeld was at the helm of some of the biggest-name fashion houses in the world, including Chanel and Fendi.
