Fans continue to ask Chadwick Boseman to do the “Wakanda Forever” salute following the success of Black Panther.
The Hollywood actor explained the funny viral “Wakanda Forever” memes when he appeared on “The Late Show” with Stephen Colbert on Wednesday night. When asked about his various variations of the now famous salute, he said: “I thought it was funny. I thought Chadwick Boseman was funny, what people were saying. It’s like a salute, you know?”
Black Panther which was started showing in cinemas in February has topped “Harry Potter” and “The Deathly Hallows 2” at the global box office. The Disney-Marvel’s blockbuster that starred Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o and Danai Gurira has officially earned $645.8m overseas and $1.342 billion worldwide. The 40-year-old actor further explained that, “If I was in the military and I did this every day, I’m not going to do it the same every time. Sometimes it’s more pedestrian.”
“So that person, whoever I was doing it to at that moment, caught a casual one,” Chadwick added about his less enthusiastic salute. “Three minutes before that, I probably did one that was fully yes!”
