See The Moment Pope Francis Kissed The Feet Of Sudanese Leaders As He Urged Them To Maintain Peace

Pope Francis on Thursday, April 11th knelt down and kissed the waring Sudanese leaders begging them to make peace with each other. This gesture was done after an unprecedented retreat at the Vatican. The pope urged them not to return to civil war as he appealed to President Salva Kiir, his former deputy turned rebel leader Riek Machar and three other vice presidents after which he asked them to respect any peace agreement they signed and commit to forming a unity government in May. He remarked: “I am asking you as a brother to stay in peace. I am asking you with my heart, let us go forward. There will be many problems but they will not overcome us. Resolve your problems,” Francis said in his remarks.”Photo Credit: Getty
