Beauty and art lovers converged at Montaigne Place in the Palm Shopping Mall in Lekki area of Lagos to experience the unveiling of the Urban Art Series.
Newly-wedded musician, Mo’Cheddah, comedian Gordons, veteran broadcaster Olisa Adibua and actor Uti Nwachukwu were all in attendance at the event, created to provide a platform where the public can easily access modern and contemporary works of Nigerian artists. Renowned contemporary artist, Tolu Aliki kicked off the maiden edition of the series with an in-store showcase of his painting titled, ‘Forever Yours’.
Tolu Aliki whose works will be on display for a period of six months added: “I’m excited to create this beautiful painting; Forever Yours for the Montaigne Place Urban Art Series. This painting examines and celebrates the essence of our commitment and love for the people we care about… as well as those who care about us. It is about loving and giving back unconditionally.”
Alali Hart, the CEO of Montaigne Place explained: “Montaigne Place Urban Art Series was birthed out of my love for arts and desire to promote and commission works of art which the public can access and enjoy in a friendly atmosphere without having to pay for it; especially those who do not have the opportunity to visit galleries or buy artwork.”
