Weekend Playlist: 5 New Nigerian Music Releases For The Weekend

Heyo! How is the weekend coming along? You’ve probably spent the weekdays shuffling between taxis and buses, okadas and tricycles. Now, you just want to spend your weekend relaxing. The WeekendWell, we can help you with music to vibe to while you relax. Either while you’re going on your general cleaning, or you just want to enjoy good music, these songs will help you get into the groove.
Let’s go for the weekend playlist.
1. Jerusalema (Remix) – Master KG ft Burna Boy and Nomcebo ZikodeIf you’ve heard the original track, you’ll know that this Afro Dancehall song is worth the hype, and this remix with Burna Boy is definitely the hottest. Burna Boy sings in the South African language, Yourba and English language. You’ll love the vibe.
2. Ginger Me – RemaRema is no baby in the industry anymore. Coming in as a trap artiste, he now makes more local music that everyone can enjoy. This Afropop song produced by The Element indeed prove his bad “commandoship.”
3. Insecure (Sensei Lo Remix)In reviewing Chike’s debut album, Boo of the Booless, I described it as the perfect valentine gift. Off his recent EP, this song hits hard. A dance pop song. Beautiful feel.

4. End Of The Wicked – Santi ft OctavianPersonally, I’ve been a huge fan of Santi ever since I heard his music, and why that kind of makes me biased regarding his sound, I can bet you that this is good music. You’ll find your feet shuffling on their own accord and the lyrics are tight. Brilliant track.
5. Simmer Down – DRB LasGiidiAlthough, a week old, this song I find it hard to define. The way Lasgiidi is composed and unfazed while delivering in English and Yoruba is what will enthrall you.
And don’t forget to listen with a earphone. Have a “blastful” weekend and see you next week!Weekend PlaylistPhoto Credit: Instagram
