Sarah McBride Is The First Transgender Woman To Become A US Senator

Sarah McBride yesterday made history as she became the first Transgender woman to become a senator in the United States. She has worked as the press secretary of LGBTQ advocacy group the Human Rights Campaign and was a trainee in President Obama’s White House.
Sarah McBride Is The First Transgender Woman To Become A Senator In The USMcBride, a former spokesperson for the Human Rights Campaign, overwhelmingly beat Republican candidate Steve Washington in Delaware’s 1st District, a heavily Democratic district that includes the city of Wilmington. She won about 73% of the vote, according to unofficial results from the Delaware Department of Elections.
