Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has stated that the cameras that were removed at the Lekki Toll gates, before fire was opened on peaceful protesters were not CCTV cameras but infrared cameras meant to pick number plates of cars passing through the toll gate.
In an interview with Arise TV, the governor stated that the decision to remove the camera was made by LCC and he had no say in the matter.
Recall that on Tuesday, pictures had surfaced of the cameras being removed, after which fire was opened on peaceful protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate.

Sanwo-Olu also stated that an investigation was still ongoing to ascertain if there were any deaths at the Toll Gate.
