Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has reacted to the accident that happened as a train collided with a BRT bus on the rail line in the Ikeja area of the State.
KOKO TV correspondent reported that casualties have been recorded as a train crashed into Lagos State Government owner bus known as Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) on the rail line at Ikeja in the early hours of Thursday. Lagos State authorities have made efforts to rescue some victims of the accident as efforts are underway to lift the bus wreckage.

Sanwo-Olu took to his verified Twitter handle to react to the tragic incident, he tweeted, “I am deeply saddened by the news of the train/bus accident . The vehicle was conveying staff of the Lagos State Government, our staff who serve the state in different capacities. Let’s say a prayer for the families and a prayer of mercy and protection for our state.
“My thoughts are with the victims and their families during this difficult time. A big thank you to well meaning Lagosians who immediately joined in rescue efforts.
