A United States military cargo plane crashed in the southern state of Georgia on Wednesday, killing all passengers aboard.
An official confirmed to the press that the C-130 “Hercules” cargo plane flying from the Puerto Rico Air National Guard crashed close to the Savannah airport.
The spokeswoman from the Georgia National Guard also confirmed the incident, saying that “There were five fatalities.”
Several social media photographs showed the wreckage of the military plane engulfed in flames and on Wednesday afternoon.
The United States military has been rocked by a string of aviation accidents in recent weeks, including an F-16 crash near Las Vegas last month that killed the pilot.
