Mercy Johnson has lost her mom.

The Nollywood actress took to Instagram to announce the passing of her mother, Elizabeth Johnson, on Thursday (May 24). She wrote: “It deeply saddens me to say that my beloved mother is gone. This is a trying time for my family and we would appreciate your prayers, even as we plead for our privacy at this time.” Mercy Johnson’s colleagues including Chika Ike, Femi Adebayo, Ronke Oshodi-Oke, Halima Abunakar, Toyin Abraham, Ireti Osayemi, and Yvonne Jegede have all react reacted to the tribute to her late mother.

Mercy recently celebrated her husband, Prince Odi Okojie’s birthday with sweet message on May 15, writing: “I love you beyond my Heart,I love you from my soul and that’s the place where only you, the kids and God dwells…. I Love You Babes and Happy Birthday to @princeodiokojie????.” Mercy Johnson presently serves as the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on entertainment, arts and culture to Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello.
