A group of Manchester United stars are hoping that Jose Mourinho is sacked this summer – although they fear that he will survive at least another season at Old Trafford, reports claim.
The Red Devils are on the verge of a trophy-less season after failing to seriously challenge Manchester City in the Premier League, with the FA Cup their last hope of silverware in 2017/18. Mourinho has been quick to blame his squad – and several star players – for the club’s poor form this season and there is clearly unrest in the camp.
And a section of the dressing room has been hoping that Mourinho would face the axe at the end of this season, according to the media. However, the board are ready to back the former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss once more and would even sell Paul Pogba, should Mourinho insist he has to leave Old Trafford.
The group of players had hoped to outlast the Portuguese at the club but they are now resigned to him staying. Whether they decide to stick it out and repair the fractured relationship with Mourinho or leave this summer, remains to be seen.
