Russian Superyachts Worth Over $2bn Seized In Europe Over Ukraine War

More than a dozen superyachts worth around $2.3bn (£1.8bn) have now been seized in European ports as part of sweeping sanctions against Russian billionaires.

The yachts, which often boast swimming pools, spas and helipads, are among the most conspicuous examples of the wealth of oligarchs believed to have close ties to Putin.

The largest and most expensive detained vessel is Dilbar, a 156-metre yacht owned by sanctioned Alisher Usmanov. Most recently, a $95m yacht belonging to billionaire Viktor Vekselberg was seized by US authorities in Spain yesterday.
