The Russians will be hoping to seal their round of 16 qualification on Tuesday when take on the Pharaohs of Egypt in their second group stage match of the 2018 FIFA world cup.
The host nation are the most successful team of the tournament thus far, after the sealed the biggest scoreline in their opening match against Saudi Arabia. A repeat of Thursday’s prolific performance will assure Russia of a dominant round of 16 match, while they still have a game in hand against Uruguay.
All hands must be on deck for Egypt today, as they need nothing short of a draw to retain their hopes of staying in the tournament. Egypt’s head coach, Hector Cuper, will not be able to protect his prized attacker, Mohammed Salah on Tuesday, if he intend to deliver a shocking blow to the host nation.
Egypt have a great chance to trigger an upset on Tuesday if they can repeat the cohesive defensive performance they unveiled against Uruguay, while using a prolific attacker like Salah.
The match will kick off at the Saint Petersburg Stadium in Moscow at 7:00 pm.
