Russia Plane Fire: One Dead And Ten Injured After Fire Breaks Out Onboard Aeroflot Sukhoi Superjet Passenger Aircraft

Five people have been injured after a fire on board a Russian passenger plane, forcing it to make an emergency landing in Moscow.

Russian state TV showed footage of the Aeroflot Sukhoi Superjet aircraft with black smoke rising above its tail after it landed at Sheremetyevo International Airport in the north of the capital.

Video posted on social media showed much of the plane engulfed by flame as it sped down the runway, but officials have told Russian news agency Interfax that all 78 passengers were evacuated.

One clip showed a number of panicked people fleeing from the aircraft, a Sukhoi SSJ-100 regional jet, as an emergency vehicle approached.

The plane was reportedly due to fly to the northern city of Murmansk from Sheremetyevo, but was forced to turn back after the fire broke out.
