Russia 2018: Recap Of The Thrilling Weekend World Cup Matches

The world witnessed the unlimited power of a united team on Sunday as a league of underrated teams turned the tide around in various group to deliver the biggest upsets we have ever seen.

From Costa Rica’s shocking loss to Serbia, to Brazil’s average performance against Switzerland. We though we have seen it all till Hirving Lozano delivered the devastating blow that knocked the defending champions three points behind.

The third day of the world cup briefly reminded football fans of the rise and fall of the Italian national team, after they won the 2006 FIFA world cup in Germany. It also reminded pundits of Spain’s abysmal performance after they won the 2010 FIFA world cup.
The German machines simply became a distant shadow of the dominant force they used to be four years ago. They completely abandoned the cohesive and coherent tactics that guided them to football dominance over the past four years.
The Samba boys also found it difficult to harness the abundance of talents in their ranks, as their excess reliance on some key players help the Swiss team to attack and defend against only the players that mattered.
