Fabian Delph has made an urgent trip back to England to attend to the birth of his third child.
The Manchester City central midfielder has been given permission by Gareth Southgate to temporarily leave the world cup tournament to be with his wife. Delph headed out of Russia after featuring in Thursday’s 1-0 defeat to Belgium.
His wife, Natalie, is due to give birth today, 30th of June, three days before England knockout stage clash against Colombia.
It is highly unlikely that Delph will feature in England’s squad against Colombia, though he plans to return before the match.
