Tottenham dog-stopper, Eric Dier, has tipped his teammate, Bamidele Alli, to reach new strides with the Three Lions at the 2018 World Cup tournament in Russia next month.
Alli has been heavily criticized for his average form with Spurs last season, hence, placing his spot in the English starting lineup in doubt.
Speaking in an interview with Daily Star, Dier said Alli can handle the demoralizing talk and will flourish in the highly anticipated world cup tournament.
He said: “That is the world we live in whether it’s fair or not. And that’s the world he is going to live in for a long time, so he will have to get used to it. He can be proud of what he is at the moment and he can be an even better player. He is always going to be someone that divides opinion and I think he is comfortable with that. He’s very comfortable with who he is and he should be – he’s a fantastic young boy and a great player.”
