Ronaldo, Rooney, Beckham, Nistelrooy & More Soccer Stars Show Support For Sir Alex Ferguson

The football world has reacted following news that Sir Alex Ferguson is ill in hospital.

Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson had emergency surgery on Saturday (May 5) for a brain haemorrhage. The 76-year-old Scottish former football manager and player, retired as United manager in May 2013 after winning 38 trophies during 26 years in charge.
A statement from United revealed that the surgery “had gone very well” but Ferguson needs a period of intensive care to optimise his recovery.”
Ferguson’s family have requested privacy as he recovers in Salford Royal Hospital.
“We will keep Sir Alex and his loved ones in our thoughts during this time, and we are united in our wish to see him make a comfortable, speedy recovery,” United tweeted.
A host of Manchester United stars including Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham, Wayne Rooney, Edwin van der Sar, and more have joined the football world to pay tribute. See reactions below.
