Inter have told Chelsea that Romelu Lukaku will not be sold this summer.
The Champions League holders are in the market for a new leading striker before the end of the window and have made Erling Haaland their top target. However, Borussia Dortmund are adamant that the Norway international will stay with them for at least another season.

Chelsea are considering a move for Lukaku as an alternative to Haaland, with a deal for the Belgium international believed to be more achievable.
But Inter’s CEO Beppe Marotta has warned Chelsea against making an offer for their former striker. When asked if Inter can rule out Lukaku’s departure, Marotta tsaid: ‘From our side, we can yes absolutely, Lukaku is not for sale. Lukaku is an important piece on the chessboard available to Simone Inzaghi.’

Earlier this summer, Inter needed to sell at least one key player in order to balance their finances and Achraf Hakimi was offloaded to Paris Saint-Germain in a €71m (£60.7m) deal.
Last week, reports claimed that Inter would still entertain an offer from Chelsea for Lukaku, but the bid would have to be at least €120m (£102.5m).Lukaku, meanwhile, has returned to pre-season training with Inter and has already declared that he will stay with the Serie A champions.
‘Yes, I am staying,’ the striker said before the start of Euro 2020. ‘I’ve already had contact with the man who normally becomes our new manager [Simone Inzaghi]. Maybe I shouldn’t say that yet… but it was a very positive conversation.’
