Rising Star: Meet The New Rave Of Street Music, Seyi Vibez

So today we’ve decided not to go the normal route of bringing you some of the most-talented fast-rising actresses in Nollywood and rather bring one of the hottest properties of the Nigerian music industry, another street music merchant and messiah, the Afrobeat and Afrofunky singer “Seyi Vibez”.

Born Balogun Afolabi Oluwaloseyi, but more popularly known by his stage name “Seyi Vibez” is a professional singer and songwriter was born 11th of July 1998, Ketu, Lagos state, but grew up on the Lagos State outskirt town Ikorodu.

Seyi Vibez who like many other Afrobeat singers said his motivation to go into music, came from the Afrobeat legend and pioneer Fela Anikulapo Juti. The singer who sings predominantly in his first tongue, that is mostly in the Yoruba dialect but mixes it up well with English and pidgin English. Seyi Vibez

The fast-growing singer who is regularly compared to the likes of Zlatan Ibile, Mohbad, Zinoleesky and mostly with the biggest kid of the street on the block, Bella Shmurda.

Seyi’s music is usually heavily worded with deep meaning lyrics, something close the YBNL singer Barry Jhay sings. Seyi Vibez is definitely one to watch out for in 2021. The singer who is currently unsigned and still an independent artist. Seyi’s music came into the limelight after he dropped his hit single “God Sent” which was released in the Amazing Klef’s Aktivated Sessions, where public solicited that he wanted his mentor and the king of street music Olamide to feature on the track.

Seyi has since then gone on to drop several new tunes, one of his most recent he featured on the Marlian music signee Lyta’s song “Gbese”. He recently also just dropped the visuals of his biggest single yet “God Sent” along with another single the Catalyst.

However, he’s is a free going person, as we’ve learned from his relation with others.

On his tracks, we get to see another side of the singer as he sings an emo-reflective song. It makes you want to have a rethink about life and change somethings about yourself.
