KOKO Docuseries brings you a mini-series on rice farming and it sheds light on the type of rice being produced and processed in the state.
In a recent interview, honourable Tope Ogunjoni who is a grain farmer revealed that Igbimo rice is what they produce in Ekiti State because of the layout and the soil in the state. Mr Tope further stated that Igbimo grain has no rival as it is low on sugar content, good for people with diabetes, and very delicious.

This is one of the food that is eaten by everyone in Nigeria and it has even become a traditional food which families eat on Sundays; so seeing and hearing how it is cultivated, produced and processed makes for people to appreciate this multi purpose food.

During the interview he said when asked what makes Igbimo rice different from others? Igbimo rice is different from all kinds of rice that you know. Its more delicious, it has less sugar content, unlike others, and it’s also good for people that have diabetes. When eating it, its like one shouldn’t finish it because it is very delicious.
