Actress Meghan Markle will be walking down the aisle with Britain’s Prince Harry next spring, but it won’t be the first time she’s tied the knot. But who was she married to, and who else has she dated? Here’s what we know about the Suits star’s romantic history.Has Meghan Markle been married before? Yes, as an American divorcee, the royal wedding won’t be the first time Meghan has said, “I do.” She was once married to film producer Trevor Engelson who is most famous for the 9/11 romance movie Remember Me, starring Robert Pattinson. He met the stunning actress back in 2004 and the pair began dating. After being together for six years, they got engaged in 2010 and tied the knot on 10 September 2011 when she was 30 years old, at the Jamaica Inn in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. The wedding was a four-day affair and pictures have since shown drinking games on the beach in the run up to the big day. The ceremony took place in front of 102 guests.When did Meghan Markle divorce her husband?The couple separated just two years after their wedding and were divorced in August 2013, citing “irreconcilable differences”. A source said: “Meghan landed her role in Suits just a few months before they married. And despite being together for six years before getting hitched, things started to fall apart not long after the wedding.” The source added that a long distance relationship didn’t work for Meghan and Trevor, adding: “They really battled with long distances. Trevor was based in LA while Meghan was in Toronto, a five-hour flight away. It was a very difficult way to start married life.”Who else has Meghan Markle dated? Canadian chef Cory Vitiello is said to have dated Meghan Markle between 2014 and 2016. Cory is based in Toronto, which is where legal comedy-drama Suits is filmed. The pair split in May 2016 – with the media reporting that Meghan was still with Cory when she first met Harry (the Prince was in Canada to promote the Invictus games in May 2016), reporting the chef refused to comment on the rumours and a friend of his also stating to the paper: “I can’t comment on that” when asked if the Prince was part of the reason their relationship ended. Cory and Meghan did not speak about their relationship in public, but he referred to her as “my lady” in a tweet in March 2016. He wrote: “So proud of my lady Meghan Markle being named Ambassador for World Vision.” There have also been rumours of Irish golfer Rory McIlroy and Meghan having a fling following her divorce. Rory helped Meghan film the Ice Bucket Challenge in August 2014, and they were later spotted having a meal in a restaurant in Dublin. However neither has confirmed the romance, so it is likely they were just friends.Photo Credit: Getty
