Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool proved to be too hot to handle as they defeated Roma 5-2 in the first leg of their UEFA Champions league semifinal match series at the Anfield stadium.
The host literally dominated the match from the first minute and their consistent pressure eventually paid off when the PFA player of the season, Mohammed Salah scored the opening goal in the 36th minute. The Egyptian striker pilled more pressure on the visitors, as he scored a second goal just before half-time.
After settling for a 2-0 lead in the first half, the Reds launched one of their most impressive attacking front in the second half, and it didn’t take long before the prolific Sadio Mane scored the third. A brace from Roberto Firmino sealed the victory for the Red army, and though Roma managed to score two goals before the end of the match, Liverpool maintained their impressive lead to crown the night for their fans.
