Rapper Fetty Wap Sentenced To 6 Years In Prison For Selling Cocaine

Willie Junior Maxwell II, the US rapper better known as Fetty Wap, has been sentenced to six years in prison for his involvement in a drug trafficking conspiracy.

the sentence was handed down by a federal court in Central Islip, following his arrest in October 2021.

In August 2022, Fetty Wap pleaded guilty to the primary charge of conspiracy to distribute and possess controlled substances, specifically cocaine.

The rapper and his co-defendants were accused of distributing more than 100 kilograms of cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, and crack cocaine across Long Island and New Jersey.

Elizabeth Macedonio, his lawyer, said he was supporting relatives and children and needed financial resources after the pandemic impacted live entertainment.

The 31-year-old also expressed remorse to communities and families affected by drug use.

“I only ever wanted to help my family, I never asked myself if it was all-the-way right,” he said.
