Newly converted Christian Kanye West was on the verge of giving up on rap and rapping, describing the genre of music as devil’s.
This was revealed by his Pastor Adam Tyson, in a recent interview with Apologia Studios, explaining how the fashion mogul had confided in him about his consideration to quit rapping.Tyson noted that Kanye was however talked out of the idea by him when he told him he could just use his talents for God. “One time, he told me that he wasn’t going to rap. I said, ‘Why not?’ He said, ‘That’s the devil’s music.’ I said, ‘Hey, man. Rap is a genre. You can rap for God.’ I think he was already thinking about it a little bit, but I definitely said, ‘Hey, bro. I think you need to use your talents that God’s given you and use that platform for God“, Pastor Tyson said.
He spoke further on Kanye’s redemption story and his encounter, noting that the celebrity was brought low by the guilt of sins that comes with being a superstar and the temptations of the music industry.
