A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said today: “The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh have today received Covid-19 vaccinations.”

A royal source confirmed the vaccine was administered by a Household Doctor at Windsor Castle.

The source added that it had been made public “to prevent inaccuracies and further speculation”.

The source said: “Her Majesty decided that she would let it be known she has had the vaccination.”

Some 1.3 million people in the UK have now received their first dose of a Covid vaccine, according to the government. In England, that includes nearly a quarter of the most elderly, vulnerable patients.
