Some traditional religion worshippers and revolutionary activists on Thursday morning protested in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital to demand the immediate release of one of their members Adegbola Abdulazeez, also known as Tani Olohun.
In videos seen by KOKO TV NG, the protesters were seen with different placards urging the Oyo State Government under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde to intervene on the matter.
Tani Olohun is currently in detention at Ilorin Prison, Kwara State.
KOKO TV NG earlier reported how a Chief Magistrate Court in Kwara State refused the bail application filed by Adegbola Abdulazeez, an Isese (traditional religion) practitioner and activist, also known as Tani Olohun.
A few days later, an Upper Area Court in Ilorin on Monday morning granted bail to Tani Olohun in a separate suit.
KOKO TV NG had gathered that the court gave the ruling after listening to the arguments of all parties on the merit or otherwise of the application filed by the applicant, ruling that bail is granted to Tani Olohun on condition that he gets two sureties who will provide N5 million each and proof of landed properties in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
Reacting to the ruling of the court, Adedamola Solesi, one of Tani Olohun’s lawyers, had said the judgement would not grant Tani Olohun total freedom to leave detention because of the subsisting ruling of the Magistrate Court.
The development had generated a lot of reactions from concerned institutions and bodies who described the continual detention of Tani Olohun as deliberate.
