Having left the UK two weeks ago to begin a new life away from the Royal Family, the Duke of Sussex is already feeling the strain of being away from his friends who have known him most of his life.

Harry, Meghan and baby Archie are living in a rented mansion with round-the-clock protection as they look to become financially independent, with the prince announcing he had “no other option” but to step down.

An insider told the Sun: “Harry misses his friends of course – anyone would.

“But he has been in [a] WhatsApp group with his mates for years and he uses that more than ever now to keep in touch and send pictures.

“The group are always sharing funny video clips they find as well.

“Harry doesn’t think being on the other side of the world means that he will lose touch with the people he has been mates with all his life.”

Meghan had quickly returned to Vancouver – where the couple spent a six-week hiatus over Christmas – following their bombshell announcement last month.

But Prince Harry remained in the UK until a fortnight ago, attending a crunch meeting with the Queen over his future as a royal.

His ‘Glosse Posse’, a group of mates from Gloucestershire he grew up with at dad Prince Charles’ estate in Highgrove, have often been spotted with the royal including polo and rugby matches as he grew up.
