President Muhammadu Buhari has reacted to the fire outbreak at Oba Market, Benin, Edo State, calling on local and federal authorities to provide assistance to the victims,
Recall that the market had caught fire in the early hours of today, at about 01:00am and till 10:00am, efforts are still ongoing to put it out. The cause of the outbreak was yet to be ascertained.
In a statement released by President Buhari’s official spokesperson Garba Shehu, the President sent out his thoughts and prayers to those who lost their wares and shops to the fire. “President Muhammadu Buhari has called on local and federal authorities to provide assistance to victims of the fire incident in Oba Market, Benin, Edo State.Our thoughts and prayers are with those who lost their shops and wares. The President also directed an investigation into the cause of the inferno, in order to avoid the “horrific’’ situation in the future, while condoling with all those that were affected“, the statement reads.
