President Buhari Shuns Nigerians Amidst Coronavirus Panic, Meets Commissions On Measures

Since Nigeria recorded its first Coronavirus case in February, President Buhari has kept mum and has not addressed Nigerians about the outbreak, even till now as the toll increased to 12.
Speaking, however, while he received officials of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) at the State House yesterday, he disclosed what the top priority of his administration is amidst Nigerians’ panic.
President Buhari first appreciated the fact that NACON is working hands in gloves with the Ministry of Health to ensure the safety of people and to contain the virus. He also praised the Commission for the reduction of Hajj fares by about 15%, advising that the officials ensure they render quality service to people despite the fare reduction .
I am pleased that you are working with the Ministry of Health on protecting our citizens from Covid-19 virus. You must work to guarantee the safety and security of our pilgrims. As a government, this is now a key priority for us. I therefore enjoin you to ensure that adequate medical provisions and other welfare requirements are afforded our pilgrims.President Buhari Has Still Not Addressed Nigerians About Coronavirus But Meets Commissions On Measures
I am also pleased to hear of the progress you have made thus far especially in reducing Hajj fares by up to 15 per cent. I am also impressed that you are still working to further bring down the cost next year. This is commendable now especially with the recent global events that have impacted on the economy. Such savings will be timely and most welcome to the pilgrims as well as to Nigeria’s economy.
