President Buhari In Ekiti State For APC Mega Rally – See Photos!

Buhari has left the Presidential Villa to show support for Kayode Fayemi in Ekiti State.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday arrived Ekiti State in the company of Ondo State governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, for the All Progressives Congress (APC) mega rally, ahead of the state’s governorship election which holds on July 14. The rally taking place at Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ado, has in attendance APC chieftains such as Bola Tinubu, Bisi Akande,  Segun Osoba, SSA to the President on Foreign Relations & Diaspora, Abike Dabiri, Secretary to the Federal Government, Boss Mustapha, Minister of Interior, Lt. Gen. Dambazau (rtd), and Senator Andy Ubah.

The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has deployed a total of 30,000 police personnel to provide security during the Ekiti election that will hold this Saturday. A statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood, an acting Deputy Commissioner of Police, on Sunday, said the police boss equally order the deployment of two patrol surveillance helicopters, five additional Armoured Personnel Carriers, APC, ten Armoured Personnel Vehicles and 250  Police patrol vehicles to the state.

“I know Ekiti fairly well and Ekiti people are well known for their forthrightness, candour and integrity,” said Buhari in May, while hosting members of the APC South West group – which included the party’s candidate Kayode Fayemi – to a dinner at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Fayemi will face PDP’s Olusola Eleka and ADP’s Segun Adewale amongst other candidates in the Ekiti Guber race.
