President Buhari today met with the newly appointed service chiefs at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The new service chief were appointed yesterday after the old ones were sacked by the president.
The new service chiefs are Lucky Irabor, chief of defense staff; Ibrahim Attahiru, chief of army staff; Awwal Gambo, chief of naval staff; and Isiaka Amao, chief of air staff. The president’s spokesperson on media Femi Adesina mentioned that the new ones were appointed because the president wanted fresh ideas in tackling the issues of insecurity in the country.

President Buhari yesterday sacked the service chiefs in the country with immediate effect. The media aide to the president Femi Adesina today made the announcement via his official Twitter handle. In his statement on Twitter, Femi Adesina mentioned that the president appreciates the outgoing service chief for their effort in serving the country and fighting insecurity.
