Goal from Phil Foden and Bernado Silva ensure Man City secure all three points against Newcastle to close the five point gap to two points while the Magpies’ continue winless run at the Etihad to remain fifth on the premier league table.
Foden put the Cityzens ahead with just 15 minutes into the contest, running past about three defenders before a deflection off Sven Botman to beat Goalie Nick Pope at close range.

Newcastle’s Sean Longstaff saw his shot blocked before Callum Wilson miscuing in the first half. Substitutes, Joe Willock and Alexander Isak troubled the City defense but Bernado Silva was the supersub after grabbing the second goal of the game to secure the lead.
Ederson keeping a clean sheet made it the 100th in the Premier League. The attention will be turned to Arsenal who will host Bournemouth.

Newcastle remain four points off fourth-placed Tottenham with a game in hand but with no win in their last five Premier League games and just two goals in those fixtures, the major concern for Eddie Howe will be the lack of goals.
