Pregnancy is the time during which one or more offspring develops inside a woman, multiple pregnancies involve more than one offspring, such as with twins, triplet and so on.

Pregnancy can occur through sexual intercourse or assisted reproductive technology, it is divided into three trimesters which is the first, second and third trimesters. While pregnancy may seem like a simple term, below are different types of pregnancies every woman should know:
1. Molar Pregnancy: This type of pregnancy can be divided into two kinds, complete and partial. Complete molar pregnancies occur when the placenta is formed in the uterus without a foetus to support while partial molar pregnancies result when two sperms fertilize one egg.
2. Singlet Pregnancy: This is when one egg meets one sperm, and only one foetus develops.
3. Intra-Abdominal Pregnancies: Most intra-abdominal pregnancies occur after a previous C-section. The C-section scar may weaken and tear, allowing the fetus to slip into the abdominal cavity.
4. Multiple Pregnancy: This type of pregnancy occurs as a result of multiple eggs being fertilized at the same time, it occurs when two sperms fertilize one or two eggs, or when one egg is fertilized by one sperm and then divides into two zygotes.
5. Breech Birth: This is a situation where the baby’s position is head-up in the uterus with the buttocks or feet close to the cervix.
6. High-Risk Pregnancy: This type of pregnancy deals with women over the age of 35 with diabetes and other health conditions or those pregnant with multiples may increase the risk of pregnancy complications.
7. Lupus Pregnancy: This is an auto-immune disease which can be complicated for pregnant women and can be further complicated by blood clotting.
8. Biochemical Pregnancy: This means pregnancy loss that occurs shortly after implantation. It generally occurs before an ultrasound can detect the heartbeat of a foetus.
9. Ectopic or Tubal Pregnancy: This type of pregnancy occurs when the fertilized egg implants itself somewhere other than the fallopian tube or uterus. It could implant itself in the neck of the uterus or in the abdomen. Ectopic pregnancy can eventually lead to abortion of the foetus and not very safe.
10. Intrauterine Pregnancy: It is a normal pregnancy where the foetus or foetuses are implanted inside the uterus. The placenta is attached to the inside of the uterus to the uterine muscle.
