The social media nearly turned on its head today, when it was alleged that popular R&B singer Praiz was arrested by SARS. The Lagos State Police Command have now explained their side of the story.
According to the Spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, SP Chike Oti, Praiz high speed ride through the Lekki-Epe expressway caused police officers to stop him with the aim of conducting a stop and search.
Going by the high rate of police brutality in the state, he immediately brought out his camera with the aim of obtaining video footage of their conversation. Oti claimed that Praiz agitated state prompted the police officers to arrest him.
Oti further revealed that it was police officers and not SARS officials who took Praiz to the station. The police spokesperson says the issue has been resolved and Praiz has been released.
