A Senior officer in the Nigerian Police Force has said a lie detector may be employed and used on 21-year-old Chidinma Adaora Ojukwu, the UNILAG student and prime suspect of the murder of Super TV CEO, Michael Usifo Ataga.
This is coming after Chidinma made a u-turn on her first statement of stabbing the 50-year-old CEO, who is believed to be her Sugar DaddY, in the neck with a knife after a disagreement, saying she only went out to get food and on coming in, she met him dead and the room in disorder.
Reportedly speaking with PUNCH Metro, the said Senior Police officer whose name or identity was not revealed, said that a lie detector could be deployed to test if Chidinma’s latest claim was true or not. According to the anonymous officer, it appears that Chidinma’s lawyers and relatives are teaching her and this angle she is now coming from is fake. Adding that she is a two-faced person who tells lies, the Senior Police officer reportedly said the lie detector will be used when the investigation gets to a top level.

“It appears that her lawyers or relatives are teaching her; but this is different from our investigation. This is a fake angle and she cannot dismiss convincing evidence that is already available and recorded, which she herself demonstrated. So, this means she is a two-faced person; she tells lies and when the investigation gets to a top level, they will use a lie detector to know whether she is telling the truth or not”, the Senior Police Officer reportedly said.
The state Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu in his reaction to Chidinma’s new revelation, said the suspect is showing traits of an active criminal. “That is the trait of an active criminal; she was here, we recorded her. The night she was arrested, we recorded her at the state CIID, even the lady that rented the place to her, we recorded her and we have all that. If she now has an afterthought, investigation will prove that”, he said.
Meanwhile, Usifo Ataga’s cousin, Barrister Franklin Ufua, said he believed Chidinma did not act alone. “I have had the regrettable privilege to see the dead body five times. My cousin’s hands were tied so badly that the rope entered the skin and the rope is an exhibit with the police”, he said.

“That binding could not have been done by that lady alone; that is not possible, even if he was drugged. It is not possible because I saw the lady and I saw my cousin and I said this is not possible. Apart from the fact that he was tied, there were multiple stabs in his body, so, that story of two stabs in the neck is not true. He was stabbed in other places; his leg. In fact, at Yaba mortuary, the attendant was so dramatic because they told us clearly that the stabbing was so bad that it is a hole. The guy stuck his two fingers into my cousin’s body in my presence”, he added. Watch him speak below:
