Police Finds Co-founder Of Feminist Group “Femen” Dead In Paris Apartment

 Oksana Shachko, one of the founders of Femen, a feminist group popular for their topless protests has been found dead in her Paris apartment. According to Daily Mail, a Femen member found Shachko dead on Monday. Her body was found with a suicide note. Shachko, 31, who is from Ukraine alongside 3 others founded Femen back in 2008. The group gained major attention especially for their topless protests which were mainly to curb authoritarianism, racism and sexism. Top on the group’s antagonist list was Russian president Vladimir Putin as well as France’s far-right National Front Party.In 2013, Shachko was exiled in France. Not long after she disassociated herself from the feminist group and continued to work as an artist. Following her death, Femen has released an official statement sympathizing with Shachko’s family and the public.“It is with great regret and deep pain that I must confirm the death of Oksana,” said Inna Shevchenko, one of Femen’s leaders. Photo Credit: Getty
