If there is one thing masquerades in Nigeria need to listen to, it is Obesere’s ‘Egungun be Careful’, featuring Zlatan but unfortunately, a masquerade in Ogun State did not and police has jammed hm.
According to reports which filled the air, Ogun State Police arrested the supposed spirit being for defying the state government’s directives on staying home and out of high-density gatherings in order to curb the further spread of Coronavirus in the country.
The Police spokesperson Abimbola Oyeyemi, who disclosed that the masquerade was apprehended at Ijeja area of Abeokuta, the state capital, noted that he had at first confronted the policemen, threatening to deal with them if they disperse his followers. “Upon the report, policemen from Ibara Division moved to the area and warned the people to disperse but the masequrade confronted the policemen and threatened to deal with them if they insist on dispersing his followers. The masequrade was subsequently arrested and taken to the station where he was warned to be law-abiding before he was released to a reliable surety“, Abimbola Oyeyemi reportedly said.Photos Credit: Getty
