Please Release Nnamdi Kanu – Bianca Ojukwu Begs President Buhari

Widow to the late Odumegwu Ojukwu, Mrs. Bianca Ojukwu, has pleaded with President Buhari to release Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

She made the appeal while speaking at the 10th memorial anniversary of late Igbo leader, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, organized in Owerri on Friday. The former Nigeria ambassador to Spain shared that the clamor for secession is a direct consequence of perceived inequality in the distribution of resources and political appointments in the country.

“Please release Nnamdi Kanu’ “Kanu’s release will further buttress President Buhari’s commitment to healing the wounds inflicted by the sense of marginalization felt by the Igbo nation,” she said. Nkem Okeke, Deputy Governor of Anambra, decried the use of violence in the quest for self-determination. He implored the Igbo people to be united and fight diplomatically so as to achieve a set objective.
