While commenting on the February 25 general elections, he said, “those who won this last election are not magnanimous enough.

“Their body language, their utterances is heating up the polity and some elders in the federation are assisting them to do so.”

He explained that because people were pressurizing the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Chairman, Professor Yakubu Mahmood, he said they should go to court.

Omotosho said: “The temperament of saying that was not genuine enough. It was because people were worrying him and pressurising him that he said, ‘please just go to court’.

“This is why the narrative in politics now is that we must go to court.

“Must the court be our final habitant in our election? After all, the decider of our election should be the electorate.

“It was because of the hyperbolic way they are talking about the courts that was why we have the narrative.

“And some people started saying they don’t have confidence in the court.
