The World Cup started on Sunday with an opening ceremony featuring American actor Morgan Freeman, Qatari YouTuber Ghanim al-Muftah, and Qatari singer Dana al-Fardan.

Meanwhile, the opening match is between Qatar and Ecuador at the Al-Bayt Stadium in Al Khor, north of Doha. Fans all over the world are excited to watch the game as they root for their favourite country and team.

Just like previous games, the opening ceremony was a grand affair with talented actors like Morgan Freeman, and others on the stage. Many have wondered out loud why the FIFA 2022 world cup is being hosted in Qatar.
