The leadership of Labour Party says the inauguration of its presidential campaign council cannot be conducted in the absence of LP Chairman, Julius Abure and flagbearer, Peter Obi.
Both Obi and Abure are currently attending rallies organised by Nigerians living in the United States.
Koko Tv had on Monday reported how LP presidential candidate rolled out his governance agenda to Nigerians in Diaspora.
Speaking on the theme, ‘Nigeria Diaspora and Capacity Building’, in Michigan, Obi stated that if elected president, his administration would drastically reduce the cost of governance.
Peter Obi further stated that the reduction in cost of governance will help reduce the nation’s debt and tackle corruption.
But on Tuesday, the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Abayomi Arabambi, told our newsmen in Abuja on Tuesday that the constitution of the campaign council is being reviewed.
This is even as he disclosed that an inauguration date cannot be given in the absence of the party chairman and the candidate.
“He said, “The LP chairman and peter obi are not around. They are currently attending rallies in the UK. No date can be taken for the unveiling of the PCC until the chairman and the candidate sit together. But we are still reviewing the list of nominees.”
When asked about the allegation that there are some controversial names in the composition of Labour Party PCC that is breeding bad blood among members, Arabambi claimed that he is not aware.
