The Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi has just been sighted at his polling unit in Agulu, Anambra state.
A circus of media personnel from various news outlets form around Peter Obi as he steps out gallantly to his Polling Unit, PU 019, Umudimakasi Square, Agulu, Anambra State.

Obi assured of victory spoke briefly to newsmen who were already there awaiting his arrival.
Peter Obi once served as a governor in Anambra under the umbrella of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) from March to November 2006, to March 2014.
In May 2022, he became the Labour Party nominee for President of Nigeria in the 2023 presidential election, after defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party where he was denied the party’s presidential ticket.

Obi was Born in Onitsha in 1961, he attended Christ the King College, Onitsha, where he completed his secondary school education. He was admitted to the University of Nigeria, in 1980 and graduated with a B.A. (Hons) in philosophy in 1984.
Afterwards he entered business and banking, eventually holding several executive positions at banks. Some of the companies he served include: Next International Nigeria Ltd, Chairman and Director of Guardian Express Mortgage Bank Ltd, Guardian Express Bank Plc, Future View Securities Ltd, Paymaster Nigeria Ltd, Chams Nigeria Ltd, Data Corp Ltd and Card Centre Ltd. He was the youngest chairman of Fidelity Bank Plc.
