PDP Suspends Election Campaign For 72 Hours To Oppose Justice Onnoghen’s Suspension

People’s Democratic Party has revealed today, January 26 that they would be suspending their campaign for 72 hours as a way to show their support for suspended Justice Walter Onnoghen. Onnoghen who was suspended over breaching the asset declaration rules by the Presidency has not yet replied his charges as his lawyers say the tribunal does not have the authority to try him. Reacting to this suspension, the main opposition party, PDP, has shared that they would suspend their campaign in hopes that the presidency would listen to the voice of democracy. They disclosed that: “In the first instance, we are suspending our campaign for 72 hours. It is our hope that President Buhari will listen to the voice of all lovers of democracy the world over and restore democracy in Nigeria immediately and without qualifications”. Photo Credit: Getty
