The Presidential candidate for the People’s Democratic Party PDP at the 2019 elections, Atiku Abubakar, appears to be firing some shot at his former party APC over its current leadership crisis after President Muhammadu Buhari threw his weight behind Victor Giadom as the party’s National Acting Chairman.
In a series of tweets posted on Thursday, June 25 2020, former vice-president Atiku Abubakar poked fun at the current leadership crisis going on within the ruling All Progressive Congress APC, while speaking about the level of order that exists within the opposition party.
The party currently in control of the country at the federal level has been engulfed in a power tussle for the past week since a Court of Appeal in Abuja upheld the suspension of Adams Oshiomhole as national chairman.
Atiku in his tweets praised his own Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as an example of the order and constitutionality needed to sustain genuine democracy in Nigeria.
“I pray that the order, discipline and constitutionality, which we, as a party have exemplified, should guide institutions of our democracy, especially other political parties.
“Without law and order in a party, a party cannot provide law and order to Nigeria”
