The People’s Democratic Party highest advisory organ are today meeting at the party secretariat in Abuja, over the party’s fallout with Rivers state governor and 2023 presidential aspirant Ezenwo Nyesom Wike.
The aim of the meeting will be focused on looking for a permanent solution to end the bickering between Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike and the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, resulting from Atiku’s choice of Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, as the party’s presidential flag bearer.
The acting chairman of the board of trustees, Walid Jibrin intimated newsmen that the aim meeting will be to settle political scores and mend the fall-outs from the presidential primaries.
Furthermore, Jubrin stated that the board will select a high profile committee that will meet ‘Emperor’ Wike and find a way to reach a consensus in other face the campaign as a united front. At the end of the gathering, the BOT leader would be anticipated to brief the media on the outcome of the meeting in a few hours today.
The party presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar during a interview with Reuben Abati and Tundun Abiola of Arise News stated that the chose Governor Okowa because he could easily work with him. The statement infuriated Wike, who has vowed to reveal all the dirty secrets of the party in the coming weeks.
