Paul Scholes: Manchester United Is Embarrassing To Watch

Paul Scholes says Manchester United have become so dull he has to watch other games to find footballing excitement.
United turned in a turgid performance in the 0-0 draw with Valencia, perfectly summing up their current crisis.
And he admitted it has become so hard to watch his former club in his role as TV pundit for BT Sport he often turns away to take in the action elsewhere.
Scholes said: “It’s all very dull, and it’s not just the last ten games. It’s been dull to watch for the last year.

“We’ve been here doing games, and we end up watching the other screens trying to find some goals.”

Scholes can scarcely hide his contempt for United and Jose Mourinho in particular – and claims the manager is becoming an “embarrassment” for the club.
In many ways this was exactly the kind of fixture Manchester United needed. After the week from hell which culminated in a pathetic 3-1 defeat at West Ham on Saturday, the visit of an under-performing Valencia to Old Trafford on Tuesday could have been hand-picked. But their inability to create anything of any note in a tense 0-0 draw emphasised the state of things right now. Paul Scholes claimed before kick-off that Jose Mourinho’s management of the club had reached “embarrassing” levels, and the events on the pitch will have done nothing to alleviate the pressure on the under-fire Portuguese.
Old Trafford legend Scholes, speaking before United’s goalless Champions League draw against Valencia, said: “I’m surprised he survived after Saturday, the performance was so bad.
“He’s coming out in press conferences and constantly having a go at players, having a go at people above him because he’s not getting what he wants.
“I think his mouth is out of control and he’s embarrassing the club.”
