The World Cup winner made it clear that he wanted to quit Old Trafford in the summer but United stood firm following interest from Real Madrid and refused to go below their £180 million asking price.

United are reportedly keen to extend Pogba’s contract, which still has two years left to run with the option of a third season. But according tomedia reports, Pogba has become ‘dispirited’ under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and feels the team are going backwards.

United have made a slow start to the campaign, winning just two of their six Premier League games so far. The report also claims that Pogba has no intention of signing a new deal and will now push to leave United once again when the January transfer window opens.

Earlier this season, Solskjaer was angry with Pogba and Marcus Rashford over their on-pitch confusion over who should take a penalty in the 1-1 draw with Wolves. Pogba returned from an ankle injury on Wednesday evening as United scraped past Rochdale in the Carabao Cup via a penalties but the France international was not one of the five takers in the shootout.Photo Credit: Getty
