Passenger Coughs To Death At Osun/Oyo Police Checkpoint

A sick man had reportedly died at the Osun/Oyo border on Sunday evening and this has brought worry to those at the scene.
Police operatives and some medical personnel at the border had reportedly intercepted a car which was conveying the sick man. The vehicle was said to be stopped at Odo Oba, Iwo, Ibadan as it was about making an entry point to Osun after leaving Ibadan for an undisclosed destination. While the driver was being interrogated, PUNCH reports that one of the occupants, believed to be sick, suddenly started coughing and died on the spot.Passenger Coughs To Death At Osun/Oyo Police Checkpoint
Speaking to the media, the chairman, Iwo Local Government, Raji Kamoru who led the team of the policemen and health personnel at the checkpoint said they were not convinced with the explanation of the occupants of the vehicle and had told them to return to where they were coming from.

They stopped the vehicle coming from Ibadan. One of the passengers started coughing and he died. The security men asked them some questions and they could not give a satisfactory explanation about where they were going. Immediately we were informed, myself and the DPO had to turn them back.
In the first instance, when we told them to return to where they were coming from, they hid in the bush. But we found them and escorted them to the boundary and handed them over to policemen at Iyana Offa, Oyo State.
