The Presidency has replied the Nigerian Senate call for Service Chiefs to resign over the level of insecurity in the nation.
Recall that the Senators made this call during the plenary today Tuesday in as moved by Senator Ali Ndume. Ndume based his motion on the recent ambush of soldiers in Katsina and the alleged voluntary resignation of many soldiers.
In a statement released, however, by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina it was reiterated that the appointment or sack of Service Chiefs is a Presidential prerogative and at such only the President can order it. Femi Adesina noted further that President Muhammadu Buhari, in his capacity as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, will do what is in the best interest of the country at all times.
